The 2022 What Car? Car of the Year Awards, sponsored by MotorEasy, will take place on Thursday, January 20 2022 from 7pm at Grosvenor House, Park Lane, London as we celebrate the best cars on sale. The health and safety of our guests are our top priority. We are working closely with our venue to monitor the situation regarding government guidelines and restrictions which may affect the event in a live capacity.
Overall category and price point winners will be announced across the night, and as always, a magazine summarising the winners will be published immediately afterwards.
Why the What Car? Car of the Year Awards matter?
Winning a What Car? Car of the Year Award is the biggest accolade a car and car maker can get. That's because the What Car? Car of the Year Awards are the most influential in the industry, thanks to What Car?'s unique position as a trusted, independent and expert voice in car reviewing. An Award win resonates on every level, both within the hierarchy of the car makers and with potential customers. Award wins drive marketing campaigns and lead to greatly increased sales success.
On the night
Winners will be announced at a black-tie awards presentation and dinner on Thursday 20 January at the JW Marriott Grosvenor House on Park Lane. The night will showcase and celebrate the outstanding achievements and contributions made by procurement professionals.
The team at the Hotel have successfully run events throughout the latest period of the pandemic. They are well-drilled in ensuring that all protocols are followed in order to keep everyone as safe as possible.
We will be following all government guidance regarding events of this size.
- Proof of vaccination status (vaccinated or exempt) and a recent test result or indemnity must be shown prior to entry. There are no exceptions to this requirement.
- You must wear a face mask in the hotel prior to entering the event unless you have an exemption (proof may be required).
In addition, we are implementing the following measures to ensure everyone can safely relax and enjoy the evening.
- All attendees are requested to take a lateral flow or PCR test prior to attending, regardless of their vaccination status, and to only attend if the test is negative.
- Additional security will be present to ensure that the queue for entry to the event moves as quickly as possible and bunching is kept to a minimum.
- We will still host a drinks reception, but guests will have the option to go directly to their table on arrival if they would prefer.
- Extra space will be put between all tables to increase social distancing.
- Trophy collectors will not interact with the hosts when they come on stage, to minimise contact.
